HTML clipboardJoe Nappi's 57' silver Corvette was powered by a screaming 327 engine. The
stock short block was fitted with:
- Canfield aluminum heads
- Comp Cam's solid roller cam and lifters
- Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum manifold
- 750 Holley double pumper carb
The power was directed through a Chevy Powerglide transmission to a
vintage Oldsmobile rear end with 5.57 gears.

This combination produced a best et of 11.22 seconds at 115.79 miles per
hour at Atco Raceway in New Jersey at the close of the 2007 season. Joe
didn't race the 57' in 2008 but spent the time mentoring his wife Paula who
won the NETO Nostalgia championship in her first year of competition.
For the 2009 season a new engine combination will be used and should
produce mid 10 second et's. More details about the mill will follow.
